It’s 2am. You hear dripping. Or you notice the pressure seems off. Or your toilet just did something alarming. Do you call an emergency plumber right now — and pay the after-hours rate — or wait until morning?
This guide helps you make that call fast. In Truckee’s cold climate, some problems that seem minor can turn catastrophic within hours. Others are genuinely fine to wait on.
Call an Emergency Plumber Immediately
🚨 Burst or Actively Spraying Pipe
Shut off the water main and call immediately. Water damage compounds fast — 30 minutes of an active leak can ruin floors, walls, and ceilings. This is never a “wait until morning” situation.
🚨 Sewage Backup or Overflow
